This project aims to investigate and develop innovative solutions for combined Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Such capabilities are needed in order to overcome the real-world challenges defined by RobotX 2022 Challenge (www.robotx.org). The team’s actual works have started since August 2021 and will end before 31 July 2023.
The scope of works for the autonomous surface vehicle includes perception for navigation, perception for maneuver, perception for manipulation, planning for navigation, planning for maneuver, planning for manipulation, and control of surface vehicle while the scope of works for the autonomous drone includes perception for flying guidance, planning for flying guidance, control of autonomous drone, control of doing pick-and-release by the on-drone mini arm-manipulator.
