Dr Tay received the BS degree in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, and the MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2002. He received the PhD degree in Electrical engineering and Computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2008. His main research interests are in distributed signal processing and algorithms, data fusion and decision making in sensor networks, information theory, machine learning and applied probability.    CV

Post-doctoral Research Fellows

Ji, Feng

Dr. Ji received the B.Sc. from the National University of Singapore, Singapore, in 2008; and the Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from the National University of Singapore, in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, he was an instructor in the Department of Mathematics of the National University of Singapore. He is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in NTU. His research interests are data analysis associated with social networks including rumor source detection, machine learning, and discrete, topological and computational geometry.

Song, Yang

Dr. Song received the B.Eng. degree in Information Engineering from Zhejiang University City College, China, in 2007. He received his M.Eng. and Ph.D. from the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, in 2008 and 2013, respectively. From Feb. 2014 to Feb. 2016, he was a postdoc in the Signal & System Theory Group, University of Paderborn, Germany. Currently, he is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. His research interests include machine learning, source detection, vector-sensor array signal processing for acoustic and electromagnetic source localization.

Jin, Chengming

Dr. Jin received the B.Eng. degree in Automation and Ph.D. in Traffic Information Engineering & Control from Beijing Jiaotong University, China, in 2010 and 2019 respectively. From 2015 to 2017, he was a visiting Ph.D. candidate in the University of Melbourne through a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council (CSC). Currently, he is a research fellow at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include multi-sensor fusion, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), train control system and safety.

Xu, Yi

Dr. Xu received the B.Sc. degree in Electronic Information Science and Technology in 2014 and the M.Eng. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2014 and 2016, respectively. She obtained her Ph.D. in Electronic Science and Technology from Nankai University in 2019. From 2017 to 2018, she was a visiting Ph.D. candidate at the University of California, Los Angeles, California, USA. She is currently a Research Fellow at the school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her research interests include signal processing, wireless sensor networks, and machine learning.

Kang, Qiyu

Zhang, Wei

Dr. Zhang received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from City University of Hong Kong in 2019. From 2019 to 2020, he was a Research Associate in City University of Hong Kong. He is currently a Research Fellow at the school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include channel estimation, signal processing in millimeter wave MIMO systems, and matrix completion.

She, Rui

Dr. She received the B.S. degree in Communication Engineering from Jilin University, China, in 2015, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University, China, in 2020. From Dec. 2018 to Jun. 2019, he was a visiting scholar at Columbia University, New York, USA. He is currently a Research Fellow at the school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include data mining, machine learning and big data analytics with information theory.

Geng, Tianyu

Dr. Geng received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in electronic science and technology from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2014 and 2020, respectively. He was a joint-supervised Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Columbia University, from Dec. 2018 to Dec. 2019. He is currently a Research Fellow at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include image processing, sparse representation, and deep learning.

Ran, Xiaohong

Dr. Ran received the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2015. Since 2015, he has been with the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation in Wuhan University, China. From 2018 to 2021, he was a visiting researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA. Currently, he is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include the modeling, stability and control of converter-interfaced power grid, dynamics, uncertainty quantification and distributed control with high penetration of renewable energy, learning based detection, and security assessment and control in cyber-physical power systems.

Wang, Chongxiao

Dr. Wang received his B.Eng. degree in Electrical and Information Engineering from Zhejiang UST in 2011, M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from NUS in 2013, and the Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from NTU in 2021. From 2013 to 2015, he worked as an embedded software engineer focusing on graphics in Continental AG. He is currently a Research Fellow in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, NTU. His research interests include statistical signal processing, privacy and artificial intelligence.

Lu, Jun

Dr. Lu received his B.S. degree in detection guidance and control technology, and the M.Eng. degree in control engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University, China, in 2011 and Sep. 2014, respectively. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in communication and information system from Beihang University, China, in 2020. He is currently a Research Fellow at the school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include avionics information integration, software defined network, and embedded systems.

Vivek Mohan

Vivek received his B.Tech. degree with First Class Distinction from JNTU - Hyderabad in 2016 and Joint M.Sc. in Integrated Circuit Design with Distinction from TU München & NTU Singapore in 2019. After graduation, he joined NTU as a Research Associate in the BRAIN Lab @ VIRTUS and was working in the area of neuromorphic circuits and algorithms for vision applications. Vivek is currently a Ph.D. candidate (starting in Jan 2020) at the School of EEE, NTU. His research interest includes integrated circuit design, neuromorphic engineering, signal processing, artificial intelligence and is currently focused on intra-cortical brain-machine interface.
