Welcome!

Welcome to Xia's research group of Mathematical AI for Molecular Sciences at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore!

The availability of massive molecular data, high-performance computers, efficient computational algorithms, have provided enormous oppertunities for Mathematical AI for Molecular Sciences. Advanced mathematical tools, from algebraic topology, differential geometry and computational geometry/topology, have demonstrated great power in molecular representation, characterization and modelings.

Our group focuses on Mathematical AI for Molecular Sciences. We use computational tools from PDE, differential geometry, algebraic topology and statistical learning to study the material, chemical and biomolecular structure, flexibility, dynamics, and functions. In particular, we are interested in topological data analysis (TDA) and generalized persistent models (including weighted persistent homology, persistent Ricci curvature, persistent spectral, etc), TDA-based machine learning/deep learning models, and their applications in perovskite design, catalyst design, polymer design, drug design, biomolecular interaction analysis, chromosome structure analysis, and more generally molecular data analysis from materials, chemistry, and biology. A brief introduction of the area can be found in 2021 winter school lectures, AATRN talk, report in Chinese for the series of talks on "Math for AI & AI for math",  and Science@NTU report on "Using AI to Understand and Design Molecules".

We sincerely welcome highly motivated students and postdocs to join our group!
