The Industrial Control Research Group focuses on R&D activities in 3 areas, namely Control Theory and Applications, Modeling and Control of HVAC systems and Intelligent Instrumentation Systems. The research program aims to develop advanced theory as well as technology for local industries, hence to improve the performance of instrumentation and enhance productivity.

Our Objective

The objective of this research programme is twofold:
(1) fundamental research in system, control and signal processing
(2) industrial applications in related areas

Highlights of Current Research Activities

At present there are 4 ongoing research projects with a total funding of $2.8m, meanwhile the research group has over 12 ongoing MEng and PhD projects. The group has published over 20 journal and conference papers in year 2002. The research has also resulted in two filed patents on intelligent transducer and smart laboratory for chemical waste treatment.
