The phase locked loop (PLL) is a basic building block that has wide range of applications in consumer, industrial, and military communication equipment, such as AM/FM detectors, modems, FSK/stereo demodulators, tone decoders, frequency synthesizers, clock/waveform generators, and television display systems.  In this project, the student will design, analyze, and test a PLL system using the SPICE macromodelling approach.  Design and simulation of PLL under the mixed analog–digital signal environment will also be explored.
