PhD positions in Spring Semester 2023 or Fall Semester 2023
1. Research directions
Synthesis of high-quality and large-area 2D materials, including 2D semiconductors, 2D superconductors, 2D magnets, and 2D ferroelectric materials by CVD, MOCVD, or CVT method. The multi-glovebox platform has been built in our group. The whole process, including synthesis, characterization, and measurement, can be done in the glovebox.
Electronics based on 2D materials. This direction includes designing and fabricating novel semiconductor architecture, such as in-memory computation, NCFET, and so on. Complete microfabrication and measurement devices are available in the group. Three cleanrooms (NTU, NUS, A*Star) are accessible.
Electrochemistry and photoelectrochemistry. Researches include the study of electrocatalysis mechanism by using micro-cells and exploration of their practical application. In detail, you can study the experimental methods for micro-cell electrocatalysis, microprocessing procedures for micro-cells, or learn how to set up an in-situ measurement system. The in-situ micro-cell electrocatalysis platform has been built in our lab to study the electrocatalysis reactions, where the electro/electrocatalytic, RAMAN, and single-molecule measurement can be carried on at the same time.
Machine learning. This direction includes optimizing material synthesis methods and parameters by using machine learning method or realizing neuromorphic computing by memristor or photonics using materials in our group.
