Abdulkadir C. Yucel received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from Gebze Institute of Technology, Kocaeli, Turkey, in 2005, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 2008 and 2013, respectively.
From September 2005 to August 2006, he worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Gebze Institute of Technology. From August 2006 to April 2013, he was a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan. Between May 2013 and December 2017, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at various institutes, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. And currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
Dr. Yucel is a recipient of the Fulbright Fellowship (2006), the IEEE AP-S Student Paper Competition Honorable Mention Award (2009), the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics Prize Paper Award (2023), the NTU EEE Early Career Teaching Excellence Award (2024), and the ACES Technical Achievement Award (2026). He currently serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine and the IEEE Journal on Multiscale and Multiphysics Computational Techniques, and previously served as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields from 2015 to 2025. His research interests include applied and computational electromagnetics, with an emphasis on ground-penetrating, tree, and through-wall imaging radars; surrogate modeling and artificial intelligence techniques for efficient electromagnetic analysis; and fast integral-equation-based frequency- and time-domain solvers, with applications to biomedical systems, circuit design, channel characterization, and large-scale complex platforms.
