I recommend that all PC chairs use CLOSET, delivering a confidence-boosting measure to both authors and reviewers alike.

Recent disclosures of collusion between authors and reviewers have cast a shadow on the academic review process. The CLOSET tool is an important step in restoring the trust. We ran a beta version of the software postfacto for ICDE 2020, and would have definitely benefited if we had been able to use it during paper assignment. I recommend CLOSET be a mandatory part of paper assignment of all conferences.
