Requirements

The candidate should have basic knowledge and experience in energy materials and devices.

The candidate must be self-motivated, responsible, and preferably creative. He/she should have a high curiosity and eagerness to design, develop and implement new research ideas.

The candidate should ideally have excellent teamwork quality and good English skill; Collaboration is the key to success.

We have a PhD scholarship on electrocatalysis starting from August 2025.




Research Fellows - Energy storage and electrocatalysis (Open)
Project description

From time to time we have postdoc positions available in electrochemical energy storage or electrocatalysis. You are welcome tot contact us or search the positions that are most suitable to you from NTU careers website .

  • Synthesize and functionalize battery electrode materials for high stability and capacity,
  • Optimize aqueous electrolytes with stable and wide voltage window
  • First-principle calculations (including Machine Learning)
  • Metal anode surface engineering
  • In-situ characterizations
  • Device fabrication and evaluation (including operando monitoring)                   
Start time        Around Dec 2024
Salary        S$ 6000 - 7000 per month, depending on experience and qualification 
Requirements

No nationality limit. The candidate should hold a PhD degree from applied physics, materials sciences and engineering, or equivelent. He/she must have proved knowledge and expertise in aqueous batteries demonstrated by high-quality publication record. Experience in in-situ operando characterization techniques and/or DFT calculations will be considered with priority.

We are interested in candidates who are responsible, independent, self-disciplined and self-motivated. Most important quality is CREATIVITY. He/she should have the skills of critical and logical thinking. Competence in oral and written communications is highly preferable. Visiting scholars and exchange students (Open)
Requirements

We welcome self-financed visiting scholars (PhD students and fresh graduated postdocs) and visiting scientists to contribute and bring in new research topics. 

You should have reasonablly good English writing skill (interview will be conducted).


Experience and expertise in the following topics are welcome: 

- First principles calculation for electrocatalysis and batteries
- Aqueous batteries (skills in pouch cells are particularly useful)
- Device level electrocatalysis
- Flexible energy electronics
- Printing of batteries
