My research interests are spin-based quantum computation, quantum foundations and physics education research (see research page).
I am deeply committed to advancing education and delivering impactful, high-quality teaching. I have been recognized with multiple Teaching Excellence Awards in 2017, 2019 and 2023. My work in technology-enhanced inquiry was also featured on NTU INSPIRE and reproduced at Times Higher Ed. Most recently, I received the prestigious Nanyang Education Award at the School level.

My research interests lie broadly in the fields of Quantum Information Theory and Quantum Computing. I am also interested in problems in Quantum Thermodynamics and Open Quantum Systems. Additionally, I briefly explored topics in Quantum Biology.
Currently, my primary focus is on the Foundations of Quantum Mechanics, particularly addressing fundamental questions related to the emergence of the classical world from the underlying quantum framework.
I obtained my PhD in Physics from BITS Pilani. Following that, I joined IIT Bombay, Mumbai, and subsequently moved to the Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI), Prayagraj, for postdoctoral stints.
My research primarily focuses on the field of quantum information and quantum foundations, particularly on utilizing the concept of negative probability to understand nonclassical phenomena and their advantages. I am also interested in quantum computing, including their implementations, practical applications, and resources for achieving quantum advantage. Outside of physics, I enjoy watching movies, traveling, and photography.
I obtained a BSc in Physics from NTU, and a PhD degree from the Centre for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore.
I work on the theory of quantum computing with donor spin qubits in a circuit quantum electrodynamics (cQED) architecture. I am currently exploring the properties of a donor-acceptor complex in silicon for novel applications in cQED.
I obtained a BSc in Physics from NTU, and am currently in my final year of the PhD programme.
I work on quantum sensing in nitrogen vacancy centers in diamond and boron vacancy centers in hexagonal boron nitride. I perform theoretical calculations and work at the interface of theory and experiment with my colleagues in Prof GAO Weibo's lab.
I obtained a BSc in Physics from NTU, and am currently in my final year of the PhD programme. My main supervisor is Prof GAO Weibo, and co-supervisor is Dr Koh.
My main focus of study is on open quantum system dynamics in both Markovian and non-Markovian regimes. I am also interested in quantum foundations, quantum information, and their interplay with the open quantum system framework. My hobbies include reading, playing games, and Chinese calligraphy.
I obtained a BSc in Physics from NTU, and am currently working towards a PhD degree. My main supervisor is Dr Koh, and co-supervisor is Asst Prof Nelly Ng.
I am currently studying quasi-probability representations in quantum mechanics, with a focus on the Kirkwood-Dirac (KD) distribution. My research aims to clarify the mathematical relationship between KD cross-terms and the decoherence functional in the consistent (decoherent) histories framework. I also explore whether non-positivity in these quasi-probabilities can indicate violations of classical consistency and help characterize the emergence of classicality in isolated quantum systems.
I obtained a BSc in Physics from NCKU, Taiwan, and am currently pursuing a research-master's degree under the National Quantum Science Scholarship scheme. My supervisor is Dr Koh, and my mentor is Dr Kelvin Onggadinata.
Hi, I'm currently a Year 3 Physics undergraduate in NTU. Mine is an education research project that explores the application of Item Response Theory in analysing the difficulty of educational assessments.
I am currently studying non-Markovian properties of a quantum Otto engine, with Dr Arghya Maity as my mentor.
I am currently in my final year of the PHMS double major. My hobbies include playing games and Formula 1.
My research focuses on the dispersive readout of semiconducting spin qubits, continuing from my URECA project into my Final Year Project. I am interested in quantum information processing and its applications in high-fidelity quantum measurement. I am mentored by Mr Koh Si Yan.
I'm working on my final year project, which applies the formalism of error correction by Buterakos et al. [PRXQ 2, 010341 (2021)]. In this formalism, errors are represented as geometric curves in phase space, and the correction of errors correspond to closing the curve.
