Brief Biography:
Dr. (Steve) Cuong Dang is an Associate Professor at school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He received Ph.D. in Physics and M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Brown University, Rhode Island, USA under supervision of Professor Arto Nurmikko . Dr. Dang’s research on nanophotonics and nanomaterials, as well as their applications in sensors, photovoltaics, light-emitting diodes and lasers has been published and highlighted in top international journals including Nature Photonics and Nature Nanotechnology. Dr. Dang is also interested in manipulating and exploiting light through highly scattering media with direct applications in biomedical imaging, photoacoustic imaging and optogenetics.
His research and development with QD Vision Inc., Lexington, MA, USA was recognized with the first quantum dot product for solid state lighting: “Quantum LightTM Optic”. Then it has been further developed as "Color IQ", the world’s first high-volume Quantum Dot product for LCD Televisions. Sony’s BRAVIA 4K 65-inch Televisions that use QD Vision's Color IQ were named Best of Show Product at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 with their colour enhancement.

Brief Biography:
Dr. Philip Anthony Surman received his Ph.D. in 3D displays from De Montfort University (DMU) in the UK in 2002. Since then he has worked on four multi-million EU-funded 3D display projects as a senior Research Fellow at DMU. In that time he has also been a Visiting Researcher at the National Physical Laboratory and University College London. Phil wrote two of the proposals, MUTED and HELIUM3D where the lead partner was DMU. In 2013 he was invited to Singapore to write the ‘Towards the Reality of 3D Imaging and Display’ proposal. This was successful and resulted in the 5-year, $9m project that finished in 2019.
