Teaching

“ The value of an education… is not the learning of many facts but the training of the mind to think…”                       – Albert Einstein

Teaching: I am teaching either Concepts in Statistical Mechanics (PH7002) or Physics (PH1011) in Semester 1 (alternating) and Calculus for Physics (MH1803) in Semester 2.

In the past, I have also taught Statistical Mechanics I (PH3201), an introductory course in statistical mechanics, and Statistical Mechanics II (PH4501/PAP710), an intermediate course on the physics of phase transitions.

Teaching Philosophy and Pedagogy. As an educator, I strive to create a positive and engaging learning environment that inspires and motivates my students to reach their full potential. My teaching philosophy emphasizes fostering creative thinking and problem-solving in students, prioritizing understanding and internalizing concepts over rote memorization to develop critical thinking skills applicable beyond the classroom. In this age of internet and social media, I believe that the use of interactive tools to make learning a more active process will become the new norm in teaching.

Teaching awards and recognition: I received the Teaching Excellence Award from the School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences, NTU in 2022 for excellence in teaching and the usage of innovative technologies in my classes.
